At the beginning of the spring semester, each Friends for Life of America chapter starts working on its contribution to the Painting for Patients program. By combining artistic creativity with member collaboration, student chapters create uplifting works of art for the hospital of their choice. Although suggested projects include paintings, sculptures, mobiles, and collages, members are limited only by their imaginations.
Friends for Life of America proudly supports the Arts in Medicine program at Shands Hospital. This innovative program is dedicated to exploring the relationship between the art of creativity and the art of healing. By funding the Circle Art Studio, an integral part of the Arts in Medicine program, Friends for Life of America provides pediatric patients with the opportunity to create their own works of art while awaiting treatment at the hospital. Through our partnership with Shands Hospital, members and patients are connected through art.
