Global Outreach Milestone: Thirtieth International Hospital Receives Donation

GAINESVILLE, July 18, 2004 - In support of the Global Outreach campaign, Friends for Life of America members have collected hats and teddy bears for the fourth straight year to benefit pediatric cancer patients undergoing life-saving treatments in hospitals all over the world.

The care packages mailed this year brightened the lives of patients in Austria, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, England, Kenya, Norway, and Paraguay. Combined with the 22 other hospitals that have received donations since the program's inception in 2000, this year's list of beneficiaries brings the total number of hospitals served to thirty.

"The Global Outreach campaign brings smiles to thousands of children around the world," said Steven D. Cohen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. "This program has given our members the opportunity to touch the lives of children in other countries who may not have access to the resources provided by cancer organizations in the United States."
