National Board approves new Friends for Life of America mission statement
GAINESVILLE, January 14, 2002 In order to accurately reflect the needs of all Friends for Life of America chapters, regional representatives and chapter officers were invited to submit mission statement recommendations to the National Board. Following a thorough review of all of the recommended changes, the National Board voted unanimously to revise the Friends for Life of America mission statement. "By broadening our mission statement to include all pediatric cancer patients, we are able to affect more lives and support a larger group with similar needs," said Senior Vice President Andy Knopp.
The following mission statement was adopted: ""Friends for Life of America is a national student organization that provides educational, emotional, and financial support for pediatric patients living with cancer."
