Thank you for visiting the Friends for Life of America website. As we work together to improve the quality of life for pediatric patients, I often think about Daniel Heidenberg, the little boy from South Carolina who inspired me to start this organization in 1997. Daniel's bicycle and safety helmet have been gathering dust in his garage. His favorite shirt and jacket have been hanging in his closet, never to be worn again by the little boy who loved them so much. So many children, just like Daniel, have to spend months at hospitals because a cure for leukemia has not yet been found. Even though Daniel can no longer be with us, his spirit lives on through Friends for Life of America. Through fundraisers and service projects, we will continue to help other children fight cancer, so that one day they will regain the strength to put on their favorite shirt and jacket, and ride through the wind on their bicycles.
