

Mile for a Child 5K is the largest Friends for Life of America fundraiser of the spring semester. Participants run, walk, bike, or skate 3.2 miles to help raise money for pediatric patients living with cancer.

Last year, the University of Florida chapter of Friends for Life of America raised nearly $2,000 to benefit the Christy Fund. The Christy Fund is a non-profit organizations that provides support for everyday needs of cancer patients. Their goal is to fill some of the gaps existing in the delivery of health care by addressing insufficiencies of insurance and supporting programs outside the scope of traditional patient care. Online registration is now open and remain open until Friday, February 29, 2008 at 5 p.m.
You can also register on the day of the race, Saturday, March 1, 2008, between 7:00 and 8:00 am. Forms will be available at the race. The race will start at 8:30am.
Mile for a Child 5K participants must be at the Commuter Lot on Gale Lemerand (formerly North South) Drive no later than 8:00 a.m. on March 1, 2008.
